New Delhi: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the people and government of India following the recent devastating floods in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Delhi.

In a message, his representative in India, Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi, conveyed condolences on behalf of the Supreme Leader to the bereaved families, the injured, and the wider Indian nation, a statement from his office said. He affirmed that the Iranian people and government stand by India in this time of crisis and are ready to extend all possible assistance to the flood-affected regions.

Dr. Elahi further said that the Supreme Leader and Iranian officials are closely following the developments with concern and compassion, sharing in the grief of the Indian people. Offering prayers, he sought mercy for the deceased, a speedy recovery for the injured, and patience for the survivors, a statement from his office said.
